TYPES OF CLASS

Beginners

The beginners class is for up to 20 people. The class enables students to understand the basis of Yoga Practice involving exercise and posture work, breathing techniques, relaxation and mediational practices.  Students will find this work excellent for releasing stress and uncluttering the mind.  If you wish to begin at the beginning, and have little or no experience of Yoga, or are coming back after a long period of inactivity, this is the class for you.  The classes intend to give a participant a good grounding in yoga.

Mixed Ability

Several of Mary’s classes are open to students of all abilities and will be individually tailored to meet the needs of the particular group – unlike many other Yoga teachers, Mary’s depth of knowledge and experience allows her to make an on the spot assessment of a group and design a class to best meet its needs.  These classes may be particularly useful for students who do not need to attend the beginners’ class, but do not feel ready to attend an intermediate/advanced class.

Intermediate/Advanced

These groups encourage a deepening of practice on every level. Participants are given a full ’Yoga experience’. This involves a full Dynamic Stretch using Classical postures, Meditation practices, Pranayama (breathing exercise), chanting and philosophy. The atmosphere is concentrated and also humorous. Group members are a mix of ages with a 60/40 ratio of men and women. If you enjoy a strong Yoga Session in the company of like minds, if you wish to know more about the practice of Yoga and to encourage a calmer more awake approach to life then this is the class for you.

YogaMobility

Mary is also the founder and lead tutor for YogaMobility, which has been running Yoga classes for disabled people for more than 30 years. All YogaMobility class venues are fully accessible for disabled people. For more information, please visit the YogaMobility Website.
